Rug Hooking"

This has been a really fun project--made with strips of material . It is called "Rug Hooing"! On one of my travel adventures with Judy--we visited an Omish village--quilt shop and learned this techinique that uses strips of material 1 1/4" wide.. If you have never tried Locker Rug Hooking-be warned! It is addictive! The repetitive movement is peaceful and relaxing. Young and old, kids and men--all enjoy. Its simple, fast, and pretty inexpensive. You can use leftovers from other projects...anything you can pull easily thru the rug canvas. My imagination has been released......again! Uh--oh!

Grandma's At Work-Super Hero Capes

We had so much fun together!! Just remember--good things come from simple ideas...these super hero capes were made from a pillow case design idea--use a cotton/satin pillow case. It''s so easy. Kathy & Wayne stopped by for a visit...and us grandma's got busy for Ben! Kathy made the one with "stars", i made the "moon"...now we need one for mama and daddy! Have fun!

Yikes..Me Quilting?

Next Adventure...Phoenix, Az--Feb 2010
With my good friend, sewing mentor, and long time traveler..Judy,we took off to scope out the "3-Dudes Quilt Shoppe." It was fabulous and I recommend it to all you quilters out there. We were "family", so we were treated like Queens..we had a sewing, quilting teacher that Ray,owner of 3-Dudes had arranged just for us...and oh my goodness...did we have a great time---all day in the store..one on one...giggle, cookies...coffee...and lots and lots of tips, teaching...fabric...thread...cutting, pressing...pinning...and i made one complete quilt top in a day...and Jude learned how to "Stipple Quilt", free hand!! Thank you 3-Dudes for everything!

Cupcake Vintage Aprons

My first try was exhausting! but oh..so worthwhile. With the help of my good friend, walking me thru each step..we found old pillow cases at an antique store...reasonable priced..then my daughter found more, and we began to cut, sew and add beautiful embellishments...arent they adorable...my 1st two are for my grandaughters...they will get them at Easter this year....then i am moving on to making some more. give me input...thanks
